People with mental illness have a variety of brain disorders, including major depression, bipolar disorders and schizophrenia. Many are survivors of violence. Many have a history of homelessness. A lot of residents are addicted to drugs or alcohol. Some of the people we serve have families, although most live apart from them. Others are also living with HIV/AIDS.
